go~mus + shop
Turn-key online shop for museums on your own domain, or as web components in your existing website. Multilingual, statically pre-rendered, accessibility-conscious.
Two routes to your own ticket shop
go~mus + shop takes your ticket sales online. You choose between two flavours:
- Turn-key shop: a complete ticket shop on your own domain. We host, operate and maintain, you sell.
- Building blocks to embed: individual booking blocks integrated into your existing website. You keep your CMS, we deliver the sales part.
Both variants sell the go~mus product types from your back office and share the same booking runtime. You decide based on your venue, your team and your existing infrastructure.
What your visitors can book
The shop sells the full range of products you configure in the go~mus back office:
- Day tickets for entry on the selected day
- Time-slot tickets with a slot picker, e.g. for high-traffic special exhibitions
- Individual offers with date and quota: public guided tours, workshops, readings, concerts without a seating plan, talks, family and school-class formats
- Group offers where availability results from size, duration and time windows rather than fixed dates
- Events with a seating plan: seat-accurate sales for concerts and seated rooms
- Annual passes and season tickets, with personalisation afterwards (photo upload, name fields)
- Gift vouchers as value products your visitors can give as a present
- Donation campaigns with campaign picker and a free amount, a flow of its own without a ticket
Multilingual out of the box
The shop is multilingual by design, with URL-based locales like /de/ and /en/. German and English are the default, additional languages such as French, Italian, Dutch or Luxembourgish can be added on demand. Translations live in the go~mus back office and the shop delivers them automatically.
Accounts or guest checkout
Visitors check out either as a guest or with an account. For logged-in buyers the shop ships a full self-service area:
- Registration with email confirmation, login, password reset
- Profile maintenance (name, address, phone, password change)
- Order history with detail view and invoice IDs
- Status per order (paid, pending, failed)
Guest checkout stays available as a slim alternative for spontaneous purchases.
Payment
Integration with selected payment service providers or processing through our own embedded payment, go~pay. Live in production: Adyen for credit cards, PayPal and SEPA direct debit; Sofort/instant transfer is configurable. You choose the methods and the styling of the checkout.
Discount codes redeem in the basket and are configured in the go~mus + promotions add-on. Gift vouchers your visitors buy in the shop redeem in the same place.
B2B shop, multi-museum, multi-tenant
Hotels, tourism partners and event organisers book your tickets, events and group offers via a dedicated B2B path. Billing per order or via consolidated invoice.
Several houses under one umbrella? A single go~mus back office serves multiple museums or multiple brand-separated shop frontends. Each brand keeps its own domain, its own branding and its own languages while data flows together centrally.
Fast and accessible
The turn-key shop is statically pre-rendered. In practice: every page sits as ready HTML on the server and ships without wait. Lighthouse performance on static pages reaches top scores in our live shops, time-to-first-byte is short, search engines index without JavaScript rendering.
Accessibility is part of the delivery, not an optional add. We align with BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA, test with Lighthouse, axe DevTools and manual keyboard walkthroughs. For your own content (images without alt text, embedded third-party widgets) your contribution stays needed.
Turn-key: standalone shop
The standalone variant ships complete:
- Your own domain like
tickets.your-museum.orgwith TLS, hosting and monitoring on us - Fully brandable: colours, typography, spacing and logo, no off-the-shelf look
- Legal pages from the back office: terms, imprint, privacy and accessibility statement live in the go~mus admin, the shop publishes them automatically
- Static content pages like About, Directions or exhibition teasers within the same shop, editable by you
- Transactional email for order confirmation, cancellation and password reset, integrated
- Updates and security patches roll out from us, you maintain nothing on the technical side
Building blocks: Web Components
If you already run your own website with its own CMS, you embed only the booking part. We ship <go-*> custom elements for ticket selection, cart, login and registration, profile, donations, coupon redemption and annual-pass personalisation. Theming flows through CSS custom properties.
What you contribute: hosting, performance and SEO tuning of the embedding pages, cookie consent and routing. The building blocks themselves target BITV 2.0 / WCAG 2.1 AA; the accessibility of the surrounding site is on you. Component list, attributes and events live in the Web Components docs.
Waiting room and web analytics
Before the advance-sale launch of a blockbuster exhibition we buffer traffic via a professional waiting room. Your shop stays reachable when everyone presses go at the same moment.
You inject your own JavaScript snippet for web analytics tools like Google Tag Manager or Matomo. The default setup is tracking-free; cookie consent is added when you activate tracking.
