Accessibility statement
Giant Monkey GmbH is committed to making its website gomus.de and the products that go~mus delivers - the booking shop, the web components, the apps - as accessible as possible. This statement covers the marketing website at gomus.de and gives an honest overview of the platform components.
Standards we apply
We aim our work at:
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the core technical standard
- EN 301 549 as the European harmonised norm for ICT accessibility
- BITV 2.0 as orientation, since most of our customers are public bodies subject to it
- European Accessibility Act (EAA), in force since 28 June 2025 for private-sector consumer offerings - applies to the booking shop, web components and the marketing website
For country-specific requirements (Austria WZG, Switzerland BehiG, Belgium and Luxembourg national implementations), we coordinate per procurement.
Procedure and tools
We test in-house, to the best of our knowledge and ability. We do not commission external accessibility certifications. The toolchain we run as part of development and before releases:
- Lighthouse accessibility audit on key routes
- axe DevTools for component-level checks
- Manual keyboard navigation walk-throughs
- Screen-reader spot checks on critical flows
- Colour contrast computed up front, not guessed
- Tests for
prefers-reduced-motioncompliance
Marketing website (gomus.de) - status
This website is, by self-assessment, largely compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Statement prepared on ; reviewed regularly.
Concrete measures already in place:
- Semantic HTML with consistent heading hierarchy
- Skip-to-content link to the main content
- Visible
:focus-visibleindicators on all interactive elements - aria-labels and aria-labelledby on sections and navigation
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios (WCAG AA, computed)
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motionon the particle hero and animations - Server-side rendering, so content is in the raw HTML and reachable without JavaScript
- Alt texts on all images
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, including Escape to close menus
- No auto-playing audio, no content conveyed solely by colour
Known limitations on this website:
- Some older content images may not yet have optimal alt text; these are being improved gradually.
Platform components - status
The go~mus platform is delivered to museums and cultural institutions; how accessibility plays out depends on the component. Honest snapshot:
- Booking shop and web components - aimed at WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Self-assessed as largely conformant for the core booking flows (calendar, ticket selection, cart, checkout). Tested with Lighthouse and axe in development. Detail reports on request.
- go~scanner app (entry control on smartphones and industrial scanners) - tested for keyboard / scanner-key operation, contrast, and screen-reader compatibility. Self-assessed.
- Annual pass app - tablet workflow at the counter. Self-assessed; staff use only.
- Back office (gomus.de admin) - not fully accessible. Complex tables, multi-select, deeply filtered lists and large data grids make full WCAG 2.2 Level AA hard to achieve in this scope. We communicate this openly. Staff use only, no consumer access. Improvements ship continuously, but full conformance is not realistic short-term.
We do not commission external audits. Customers who need a formal conformity report for a procurement should contact us via sales@giantmonkey.de - we share our self-assessment material and discuss the components relevant to the tender.
