What's new
New go~mus checkout UI: POS version 2.0
The go~mus UI for the checkouts gets a new look. With this release we make POS version 2.0 available. The new checkout interface simplifies handling orders on site and brings many new functions:
- Better performance on the individual pages, considerably lower load times
- Modern design including a light/dark switch
- Customer search, institutions and action codes
- New barcode search and validation
- Dashboard and statistics, entries and further visualisations right at the point of sale
The new version can run in parallel with the existing integration in the Korona POS system for a test phase, to ease the transition. If you would like to test the new checkout integration, reach out to us.
Important: version 1.0 will be discontinued at the end of the year. The transition therefore has to be completed by 30 November 2026 at the latest. We provide extensive documentation and offer free webinars to support the transition.
go~mus self-checkout system (SCO)
New in go~mus: with the self-checkout system, visitors buy tickets without additional checkout staff. The SCO runs on dedicated kiosk terminals and offers the following functions:
- Touchscreen ticket selection with an intuitive design
- Several payment methods: card terminal, smartphone (QR code) or cash payment at the checkout
- Automatic ticket printing via thermal printer
- Multilingual: German, English, French, Dutch, Luxembourgish
- Accessibility: optimised for screen readers and touch operation
The SCO is configured via its own shop type and can be adapted to individual needs, from timeout settings to maximum ticket quantities per order. If self-checkout is of interest to you, reach out to us.
go~mus web components
The new web components enable a modern and simple integration of go~mus ECOM functions into your websites and shops, regardless of how the website is built technically. The components offer, among others:
- go~ticket-selection: ticket selection with calendar and time slots
- go~calendar: date selection for available appointments
- go~timeslots: time-slot display
- go~cart: cart component
- go~checkout-button: checkout integration
- go~total: total display
The web components are the basis for future shop integrations and enable a seamless embedding into existing web presences.
go~mus + crm: contact management
The new go~mus + crm add-on provides extensive contact management. Contacts can be created easily and either assigned directly to an event as participants or combined into a distribution list. Additionally, attributes and functions can be assigned to contacts in order to segment them.
Existing contacts can be imported as CSV, XLS or XLSX files and then grouped into distribution lists. Each contact can be assigned a preferred language, and email templates are then sent automatically in that language.
go~mus + invite
Together with go~mus + crm, invitations for events such as exhibition openings, press conferences or VIP events can be sent specifically to particular people or groups, directly via email through go~mus. A filter allows a quick search by name and RSVP status (accepted, declined or no response yet). In addition, a value for accompanying persons (plus X) can be set, for individual contacts as well as for whole distribution lists.
Features
Individual capacity per appointment (individual-seat offers)
Appointments can now have their own maximum number of participants, independent of the offer's default setting. The appointment editor provides a "maximum number of people" field for this. If a value is entered, it applies specifically to that appointment and replaces the default number stored in the offer.
The API automatically returns the actually valid capacity for each appointment. All relevant processes take this setting into account, whether at the checkout, when checking bookings or for reservations. This ensures consistent data and prevents overbooking.
Ticket reservations for appointments
Tickets can now be reserved automatically for the online shop. With tight quotas, this ensures that tickets remain purchasable until 5 minutes after the event starts. After that they fall back into the quota and can be bought on site, for example.
Time slot manager
The time slot manager lets you adjust ticket capacities for individual time slots specifically and by the day, for example 50 instead of 100 seats on 20 January at 10:00. These day-specific calendar rules automatically override the usual weekday base rules without changing them permanently. The changes take effect immediately, in the web shop as at the checkout. The time slot manager is found under the "Quotas" menu item.
Note: the time slot manager already prepares the long-requested split of the shop and reseller sales channels but is not yet functional for it. The split arrives in one of the coming releases.
Institution detail page: ticket assignments
On the institution detail page, a new component lists all tickets assigned to the institution. Adding and removing assignments is now possible directly on this page.
Extended automation rules (event triggers)
The automation rules were reworked extensively:
- Event-based triggers - Alongside time-controlled rules, automations can now be triggered by concrete events, for example on booking changes or new orders.
- Free choice of recipient - Emails can now be sent to any address, no longer only to the customer.
- Quick duplication - Existing rules can be copied with one click.
- More reliable filters - The filters for products, tickets and sales sources now work more stably and precisely.
Collective invoices: correction invoice
For collective invoices, a correction invoice (cancellation) can now be created directly from the order detail view. From a certain number of line items, a more compact PDF format is used automatically, so extensive invoices stay clear too.
Quota rules: automatic cleanup
Outdated quota rules of the "calendar rule" type are now deleted automatically (default: after 104 weeks). This keeps the database lean and improves performance in quota calculation.
User list: sorting and filtering
The user list in the admin area is now sortable and filterable, in line with other lists in the back end.
Changes
Performance improvements
- POS 1.0 - The checkout interface was optimised further to make the transition to the new POS 2.0 smoother.
- Statistics - Analyses for ticket sales now run considerably faster.
- Memory usage - A new autotuner setting provides a more efficient use of memory.
Multilingualism
Improvements to translations for French, Dutch, Luxembourgish and English, in particular for automation rules, quotas, guides and checkout management.
[BETA] PDF template editor
The PDF template editor was extended with a visual editor:
- Drag & drop - move elements directly in the preview with the mouse
- Resize - scale elements via the handle at the top right
- 5 mm grid - hold Shift for precise alignment
- Undo - Cmd/Ctrl+Z undoes the latest changes
- Placeholder overview - shows used and available placeholders per template type
- Ticket links - overview of which tickets use a template
In a coming release, further functions follow that let the new editor fully replace the existing PDF engine. In addition, museum and location are now shown as clearly distinct in the "booking receipt" PDF template.
iCalendar rate limiting
Rate limiting was introduced for iCalendar exports to avoid unnecessary server load.
Replica database
The replica database was extended:
- More information on redemptions of discount codes and applied discounts (action_token_redemptions_view)
- Support for the integration of AVS pass partners (avs_pass_partners_view)
- Statistics on visitor origin (visitor_origins_view)
- Improved multilingualism support for price categories
- External system connections (foreign_connections_view)
Bugfixes
- Collective invoices: invoice balance - The balance on cancelled collective invoices is now calculated correctly.
- Automation rules - Rules with empty filter criteria are now executed correctly.
- Flexticket: entry limit - For flextickets with an entry-zone limit, only scans of the current ticket are now counted.
- Voucher discounts - Voucher discounts were overwritten by other discounts at the checkout. This error was fixed.
- Guide work week - The calculation of the work week for guides works correctly again.
- Partial occupancy - Partial occupancy for room requests works correctly again.
- ActionToken description - The description is now saved correctly.
- Invoice PDF - The calculation of discount and tax amounts was incorrect and was fixed.
- POS 2.0 - Ticket-specific institution discounts now work correctly at the checkout, and no duplicates are shown for tickets assigned to several museums.
go~mus + interfaces
Vienna Pass integration
go~mus was extended with a connection to AVS CardControl, so Vienna Pass cards can be validated directly at the entrance:
- Card validation: Vienna Pass, FlexiPass and ASTA cards can be scanned at the entrance and checked via the AVS API.
- Entry registration: valid entries are recorded automatically in the AVS system.
- Cancellation: incorrectly recorded entries can be cancelled easily.
- Partner assignment: entry zones can be linked directly with AVS partners.
Bundesmuseen Card
Support for 14-digit Bundesmuseen Card identifiers was added.
Adyen Cloud Terminal API
The integration of the Adyen Cloud Terminal API enables a more modern connection of card terminals to SCO and POS.
PayPal
The country of the customer address is now stored for PayPal payments.
API extension
- Rooms occupancy - A new API endpoint shows the current occupancy of rooms.
- Skip confirmation email - Email confirmations can be skipped via an API parameter when needed, handy for automated booking processes.
go~mus + Shop
Payment demo mode
Shops can now be set into a demo mode for payments. This is especially helpful for training and tests without triggering real payments.
Shop settings: validation
The shop settings are now checked automatically for valid JSON. This lets configuration errors be spotted at save time, before they cause problems.
